RSS & Bayes

July 4, 2006

Has anyone built a RSS reader with a Bayesian Categorizer? People who have subscribed to hundreds of RSS feeds can’t possibly keep up. If a RSS reader can track which posts you tend to like, it may be able to sort new posts using Bayes’ scores on how interesting a post might be for you. Think of it as a reverse spam filter. Better yet, someone like Bloglines could use collaborative filtering to help filter posts, much like Yahoo’s Launchcast system. Clearly RSS readers could be much more useful than they are today.

[attensa does some kind of filtering]
